Trail Survey
The Friends of The Great Southern Rail Trail have been conducting a Trail Users Survey to record the total volume of users in order to obtain government funding so that the railtrail can be completed from Leongatha to Foster (over 40kms). Each Trail User was asked to give the date used, an approximate time on the trail and the number of users seen on the trail (walkers, cyclists, etc).
|
The results from the Trail Users Survey show that there was an average of 32 users per day on the Leongatha to Koonwarra section and 24 users per day on the new Meeniyan to Stony Creek section. Sunday was the most popular day with over 140 users counted on a Sunday during the survey period.
