On Sunday 28 November 2004, the Barongarook Hall Committee will hold a BBQ and car boot sale at the Barongarook Hall. It is also planned to unveil the replica Barongarook station name board on the day. 9am-1pm. Barongarook is about 10 klms south of Colac and refer to the map on page 86 of Railtrails of Victoria/SA for location details.
In other developments on the Beechy Rail Trail, DSE has provided a grant of $300,000 for a bridge over the Gellibrand River. Also $25,000 has been received by the Rail trail for "gateway" works at the start of the trail in Colac.
An offical trail opening is expected during 2005.
