Report on Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (Qld) Moore Opening

Posted: 28/11/2007

The first state-government funded section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail was opened on Sunday 25 November 2007 at Moore. This 7km section from Moore to Linville links with an existing 23km section already developed by the Nanango Shire Council.

The opening was well supported by the local community with market stalls and a street parade at Moore and a BBQ at Linville. A number of cyclists had come up from Brisbane, although others may have been deterred the threat of rain.

After speeches and the cutting of a ribbon, a "high tea" was held in the Moore Hall followed by a walk/cycle on the trail.

A more detailed report will be included in our next printed newsletter.

For more information on the trail including a map, see our trail description.
